Our hotel is situated in the center of the Lake Neusiedl - Seewinkel national park and is an ideal home base to explore its unique landscape.
The region is one of most species-rich in central Europe and is regarded as a top destination for naturalists and birdwatchers all year round. More than 350 species of birds have been recorded here. Especially the habitats along the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, in the so-called Seewinkel region, host an impressive variety of birds. Among them you can find extraordinary and sought-after ones, such as Great Bustard, Bee-eater, Hoopoe or Eastern Imperial Eagle.
The shallow salt lakes of the Seewinkel are a scenic speciality in Europe. Rare species use this habitat as a breeding area and stopover site. The reed belt of Lake Neusiedl is an extraordinary habitat to rare and specialized species as well.
The booklet "Vögel beobachten im Seewinkel" ("Watching birds in the Seewinkel"; only available in German) gives an overview of the best birdwatching sites of the national park. You can order it here or purchase it in our hotel.
Leander Khil can be booked as a private tour guide in the Seewinkel area as well as for Seewinkel-Safaris at St. Martins Therme & Lodge.
